Forum Title: Star tractor marks, HELP
A store I do work for, had an installer do a job and the customer is complaining about the tractor marks left in their carpet. I am told it is a Nylon cut and loop pattern piece. I told the store the heat from the iron and I'm guessing a metal tool box tray has heat set the marks into the carpet. Is their anything they can do to get the marks out? I thought maybe steam.

I think steam is your first and maybe only option in this case.

It crimps the yarns so they catch the light differently. Maybe trythe steam and gently massage the yarn with finger tips then flat roller it. Just don't reverse the direction of the yarn in the process. If it is one of the soft yarns you are S.O.L. Daris

The addition of a tool box tray/seam weight makes it worse. I know installers who have always used a star roller with no problem, unless they also used a weight.
